Precise World Diabetes Day Walkathon 2025 – A Grand Success!
The Precise World Diabetes Day Walkathon 2025, held on 16th November at Kanakakunnu, was a remarkable and inspiring event, marked by outstanding public participation and overwhelming community support. The walkathon aimed to spread awareness about Diabetes prevention and encourage a healthier lifestyle—and it truly made an impact.
The event began with a warm and heartfelt welcome address by Dr. Jayaram V R, Chairman and Senior Consultant of Precise Speciality Eye Care, setting a positive tone for the morning.
The walkathon was officially inaugurated and flagged off by Sri. C H Nagaraju IPS, Transport Commissioner, who motivated the crowd to take proactive steps towards better health.
Smt. Arshitha Attaluri IPS, Managing Director of Kerala State Beverages Corporation, led the gathering in taking the Diabetes Oath, reinforcing the importance of regular screening, physical activity, and healthy habits.The event was elevated with esteemed felicitations from:

With more than 1200 enthusiastic participants, the walkathon witnessed incredible support from people across all walks of life—young and old, families, students, and fitness enthusiasts—all joining to make a difference.The event not only promoted physical activity but also significantly raised awareness about Diabetes, its early detection, prevention and care.
Along with diabetes awareness, the program also emphasized the importance of regular eye health, especially for those at higher risk:
Periodic eye check-ups are extremely necessary for overall health.
Individuals with Diabetes must undergo an eye check-up once every 6 months to prevent and detect diabetic retinopathy early.
All individuals above the age of 40 should get an eye check-up at least once a year to safeguard their vision.
This walkathon stands as a proud reflection of Precise Eye Care’s unwavering commitment toward society, community health, and public awareness initiatives.

World Record cyclothon for glaucoma awareness
On March 16, 2025, the streets of Trivandrum witnessed history as Precise Speciality Eye Care, in collaboration with IMA, Trivandrum Ophthalmic Club & Cyclo Trivians, hosted a record-breaking Glaucoma Awareness Cyclothon!
The event kicked off at 6 AM from Kanakakunnu and concluded at Shangumugham, raising awareness about Glaucoma – the silent thief of sight.
Renowned actress Parvathy Thiruvothu inaugurated the event and led the gathering in taking the Glaucoma oath. Padma Shri I.M. Vijayan flagged off the cyclothon, setting the stage for an energetic ride ahead. IMA President-Elect Dr. Anil Kumar J. Nayak ,the guest of honor, enhanced the event’s grandeur with his presence.
Precise Speciality Eye Care Chairman Dr. Jayaram V.R and Glaucoma Dept. Head Dr. Kiran Gopalakrishnan delivered the Glaucoma awareness message, emphasizing the importance of early detection. Trivandrum Ophthalmic Club President Dr. Minu Mathen and Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons General Secretary Biju John extended their best wishes for the event. Dignitaries from the medical field, the arts, and luminaries from various walks of life addressed the gathering, enriching the occasion with their insightful words.
